MISSION:

Chariot, formerly known as Drive a Senior Central Texas enriches lives and communities by providing transportation and socialization to non-driving seniors, helping them to age in place. The majority of our rides are provided by our team of volunteer drivers who utilize their personal vehicles to transport clients to medical appointments, activities and personal errands. We also offer group rides in our vans/bus to grocery stores, senior activity centers, exercise classes and other activities utilizing paid drivers.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Chariot Development Manager plays a crucial role in planning, implementing, and overseeing fundraising and development activities for Chariot.  This role involves planning and executing strategies to secure financial support, cultivate relationships with donors and promotes the organization’s mission and vision. The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and the Fund Development Committee to secure and oversee our contributed income. They will work with the Executive Director to write government and private foundation grants, solicit individual and corporate donations, plan and execute special events and donor management in Salesforce. The Development Manager is a member of the staff leadership team.

 

Chariot will pay for Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) membership

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.      Fund Development:

a.      Work with the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee (FDC) to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan

b.      Help recruit FDC members and contribute at regular meetings

c.      Work with the ED and Finance Manager to develop an annual and budget; monitor the budget regularly and make recommendations for revisions as needed

2.      Corporate, Individual and Organizational Donors:

a.      Manage annual corporate solicitations; develop corporate relationships, plan and execute asks, manage annual corporate gift goals

b.      Plan for and manage individual giving campaigns; work to increase awareness and donations. Oversee Board member annual contributions

c.      Cultivate and manage relationships with Faith-based and Civic groups to create opportunities for donor and volunteer involvement

 

3.      Administrative:

a.      Ensure that all donors and their contributions are acknowledged in a timely manner; ensure that any recognition promised to a donor is adhered to the agreed upon timeline and met including annual reports, grant reporting and communications deliverables

b.      Ensure that all donations and donors are entered in Salesforce platform

c.      Ensure that the entire donor lifecycle, including emails, donations and event attendance is entered into Salesforce

4.      Special Events Management:

a.      Oversee development of special events. Plan and execute annual events for donors such as annual luncheons, auctions and other virtual or in-person events designed to raise funds or friends or recognize financial or personal contributions

b.      Work with our contract communications person to create donor communications timelines specific to campaigns including Giving Tuesday and Amplify Austin

c.      Recruit and manage volunteer ad hoc event committees as needed

5.      Networking and Relationship Building:

a.      Attend networking events, conferences and community gatherings to increase Chariot’s visibility and expand the donor network

b.      Collaborate with other nonprofit organizations, partners and community leaders to foster

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·        Knowledge of Central Texas fundraising landscape

·        Knowledge of CRM systems, Salesforce, Bonterra, Google Workspace and Dropbox

·        Knowledge of fundraising strategies and methods

·        Skilled in individual solicitation and special events fundraising

·        Skilled in verbal and written communications

·        Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences

·        Ability to work independently

·        Ability to manage time effectively

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

·        Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

·        Three to five years’ experience in nonprofit fund development
