Kim Andersen, AISD Alternative Education Satellite Campus School Counselor captivated our moderator, Barry Silverberg, when he briefly addressed an Austin Classical Guitar gala. In this episode, Kim shares his passion as he discussed “the kids’ plight as they make their way through the juvenile justice system and transition to and out of our facilities”.
Kim Anderson Bio:
Kim Andersen has been in Education for 13 years. The majority of his career has been serving incarcerated youth at the Gardner Betts Juvenile Justice Center in Austin, TX. After classroom teaching for several years at the Gardner Betts campuses, Kim moved into the School Counselor position that serves what Austin ISD calls the Alternative Satellite Campuses and includes the three campuses housed at the Gardner Betts Juvenile Justice Center. He is married with two children.
