The long-term impact of quality early childhood care and education is very well-established, and for more than 45 years Open Door Preschools has been committed to ensuring an intentionally inclusive, deliberately diverse environment that nurtures and inspires young children with a variety of developmental needs, and from all economic levels and family backgrounds, in an engaging educational environment. We have three locations in Austin — M Station, Central, and our newest location, NORTH.
Open Door Preschools is a NAEYC-accreditednon-profit (501c3) organization and a four-star Texas Rising Star Certifiedprogram with award-winning teachers and deep roots in the larger Austin community.
We are accepting resumes from people with early childhood education and/or experience who love the idea of teaching through play and who want to make a difference in the lives of young children. Everyone you work with will be a caring professional dedicated to creating a wonderful place for children to learn and grow.
Candidates must be dependable, flexible, and available to work regularly scheduled hours between 7am-5:45pm M-F.
Minumum Requirements: High school diploma and some previous child care experience.
Preferred Requirements: College credit in early childhood development and at least one year of prior child care experience.
Education: ● HS Diploma (Required) ● Associate (Preferred) License/Certification: ● CPR Certification (Preferred) ● Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A BACKGROUND CHECK is required for all employees.
COVID-19 considerations: All Open Door Preschool teachers must be fully vaccinated against COVID. Open Door follows best practices based on current recommendations and guidelines from NAEYC, the CDC, and Austin Public Health. A mask may be required during the interview and to work with young children and families each day.
COMPENSTAION AND BENEFITS
$15.00/hour or more, depending on education and experience.
— Paid sick/vacation days and paid holidays for permanent staff working a minimum of 20 hours/week.
