The joy of my professional journey stems from my faith and the wonderful relationships that I’ve been able to establish throughout my 25 years of service in the Austin community. Before joining A Glimmer of Hope Foundation in 2003, I worked for a broad range of companies and organizations including IBM, UPS, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Austin, Austin ISD, Austin/Travis County Youth Advocate Program and City of Austin Police Department. All offered invaluable learning opportunities while on this life-long journey.

Drawing on my years of experience in nonprofit management, youth development and community relations, my time, energy and heart are now focused on grant management and administration for Glimmer Austin. Passionate about sharing hope, opportunities and support for youth and older adults in need, I work with the Glimmer Team and various organizations in the city and county to provide after-school programs and basic services to those who are underprivileged and often neglected.

I came to Austin in the early 1980s to attend the University of Texas. While in school, I began working with youth at an elementary school in east Austin. That was the beginning of my love and calling to serve others, particularly disadvantaged youth. I went on to receive a BA in Sociology from UT at Austin and later a MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University at San Antonio which deepened my desire and commitment to a career in social services.

My faith and family keep me forever focused and grounded. I’ve been blessed with a wife and two wonderful sons who, regardless of how the day has transpired, continue to greet me at the door every evening with love and joy. As a servant leader, my life is about sharing this love along with peace, encouragement and support to those who are less fortunate.

A Glimmer of Hope Austin embodies the very essence of love and care for humankind. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to walk and work alongside a team of individuals who possess such wonderful hearts and compassionate spirits.
