ACC’s Design Studio gives nonprofit organizations the opportunity to collaborate with ACC students who act as a professional design firm. Through two semesters or 12 week sprints, students work directly with clients to create impactful visual materials such as logos, brand guidelines, social media templates, posters, brochures, merchandise, and digital assets.
Design Studio
Design Studio classes are an opportunity for students to work directly with clients to execute design projects. We offer Design Studio 1 (Fall semester), and Design Studio 2 (Spring semester).
- Typically projects are completed over the course of two semesters so the project will complete phase 1 in the Fall with phase 2 in the Spring.
- For simpler projects we can schedule a 12 week sprint that would complete in a single semester, based on the classes and other commitments.
- Students act as a professional design firm that works with the client to deliver a set of agreed on deliverables.
- In the past our students have created design work for:
- the McNay Art Museum,
- The Art Galleries at ACC
- the Annual ACC Fashion Design Showcase
- Williamson County Brown Santa
- The Center for Government and Civic Services
- Nonprofit Austin at ACC
- …and more
- Types of work we do include:
- Logos
- Brand Guidelines (colors, fonts, use of logo)
- Social media templates
- Posters/Brochures
- Web assets (total web design is limited and will require discussion)
- Merchandise: t-shirts, tote bags, mugs, notebooks– much more
- All final files are delivered to the client so they may work with their vendors, printers or others to use the designs as needed for the future.
