Certificate in Measuring Social Impact & Effective Storytelling

In this session, participants will explore how to design strong, focused evaluation questions that align with their mission and lead to meaningful insights. Sarojani Mohammed, Ph.D shares why this work is essential, not just for organizations, but for ensuring individuals and communities can meaningfully engage with and benefit from their own data.

On the importance of defining the right evaluation questions:

“One of the hardest steps in evaluation can be crafting the questions that will guide your data collection and analysis. There are infinite things we want and need to know about our program, and there are (almost) infinite data that we could collect. Making sound connections between those two things, with limited resources and judicious use of participants’ time, is crucial for any evaluation to produce relevant, meaningful, and actionable insights.“

This is just one of the key topics we’ll explore in the Certificate in Measuring Social Impact & Effective Storytelling—a program designed to help nonprofit professionals deepen their learning and lead with clarity and accountability.

Early Bird is $1250 and is available through Friday, August 1, 2025.

Embrace the Complexity in Your Team

Risk leaders often face pushback when introducing new policies, but the way we communicate can build trust instead of tension. Drawing from Ryan Leak’s How to Work with Complicated People, this piece encourages leaders to become students of people, embrace emotions, and adapt with flexibility. When requests are timely, simple, and clearly connected to shared goals, they’re far more likely to be met with openness.
